Wireless Device and System Design
Wireless devices and Systems
are evolving rapidly, and will eventually replace wired
communications. However, the complexity of such systems far exceed any wired technology. Aside from the digital design, the
more sensitive RF section needs to be designed, certified, and licensed. Then there is the issue of interference and coexistence with other wireless devices that may impact operational reliability.
If you are considering a new
wireless device or system design, there are several factors you
must take into account. Of equal weight are transmission data rate,
range,
and
frequency spectrum utilization. There are many RF transceiver modules on the market that can be
integrated in your design. The advantage of off-the-shelf modules is FCC
certification, which is a very costly process. The choice of spectrum is
important due to regulatory agency restrictions throughout the world.
For instance 900 MHz band is not allowed in parts of Europe, whereas 2.4
GHz is. Also, there are many microcontrollers with integrated
transceivers built in. NXP and Ti provide a few.
Our team is ready to discuss your requirements, help you build
your device, and take it through FCC certification.
Our WILDR-MIU (wireless interface
low-power digital radio master interface module) is a
good example of our capabilities. The product was designed, fabricated, and successfully completed the FCC Certification trials.
