Wireless Interface Low-power Digital Radio

WILDR-MIU is a wireless device that provides several industry standard interfaces; RS-232, RS-485, RS-422, buffered GPIO lines (General Purpose Input/Output lines), and a Console port that connects to a PC/laptop to configure radio’s operating parameters. The range of the transceiver is about 1 mile outdoors [LOS], and several hundred feet indoors, depending on the building material composition, using a 7 dBi gain antenna. There are 15 RF channels. The serial I/O ports accept data rates from 4.8 to 115.2 kbps (kilobits per second). Over the air transmission is encrypted with a site-specific code. WILDR also performs hardware interface translation; for example, the transmitting WILDR serial interface can be configured as RS-232, and the receiving WILDR serial interface can be configured as RS-485. Important note to OEMs: The product is available for integration with a wide range of applications. The board contains 1x RS-232 data port, 1x RS-485 port, and 1x RS-422 port. A plug-in AUX-board provides functionality for Access Control Applications. Custom configuration is available. Please contact us for further inquiries.

A companion (plug-in aux-board) connects to the GPIO lines, and enables WILDR to operate as an integral part of a Security and Access Control System. It allows an ACS panel to use WILDR to communicate with a remote Reader/Door wirelessly (WILDR-MIU1). A second WILDR-MIU1 at the Reader/Door location connects to door functions such as request to exit button, door position sensor, reader signals (data lines, led lines, tamper), and electric strike. All door functions are powered by WILDR-MIU1, eliminating the need for an external battery. The reader data can be Wiegand (data0, data1), or Magnetic stripe (Clock & Data). All card formats are supported up to 8183 bits. The RS-485 interface can be used between the Access Control Server and individual access panels, and between panels, eliminating the need to install conduits, cables, and avoiding public right-of-ways.
